Why Join?

Being part of a club like SWIC benefits everyone. New members offer social and cultural diversity to the club, and at the same time our existing members can enrich the lives of new members by helping cultivate friendships and new experiences. Our support network for newcomers, Springboard, offers support in settling a member into her new neighborhood through a ‘buddy’ system. A ‘buddy’ is assigned to the new member to meet for a chat and to offer a welcome as well as some local knowledge.

We are a busy club, and there is always a regular event or activity to suit every member. Our monthly program includes international morning teas, language conversation groups, walking, movies, craft, book group, art and culture events and special tours, while other activities such as choir, golf, tennis, bridge and mah-jong occur weekly. Membership of SWIC is on a purely personal and individual basis. The Club does not have corporate membership.

Becoming a Member

If you are interested in becoming a member contact us and we will send you information about the Club, together with an invitation to attend a SWIC Information Morning hosted by the committee. These are usually held on the last Monday of the month. In the meantime you may like to download an application form here, which you should fill in and bring to the Information Morning.

NOTE: Only after a prospective member has attended one of the Information Mornings and paid her joining and membership fee is her application for membership considered for approval by the committee. Once the application is approved you will be advised how to access the members’ area of the SWIC Website and sent your SWIC badge.
